To Brew or Not to Brew by Joyce Tremel

To Brew or Not to Brew: A Brewing Trouble Mystery by [Tremel, Joyce]

A Brewing Trouble Mystery…First in a new series

Set in Pittsburgh, Ms. Tremel gives us a new series featuring Beer! Usually we talk about Tea, Coffee, but we haven’t had a Brew Pub Mystery yet!  I was excited to see this one.

Featuring Max O’Hara, proud owner of The Allegheny Brew House. Max has studied with the best in Germany to learn all she can about brewing and become a certified brewmaster.

Things are going as planned, with her grand opening just around the corner. But we know it isn’t going to go as planned. Someone is trying to sabotage her opening and when she gets a call from her assistant brewer, Kurt, saying he knows who it is, Max comes running.

Unfortunately, what she finds is a dead Kurt. The last thing she needs right now is to try and figure out who killed Kurt and who is out to get her, but with a father who is a Detective, it’s probably in her genes.

I honestly wasn’t sure if I would like this one, because it is about beer brewing, but the characters won me over right away. Max is a strong character and Hops is the sweetest kitten ever…and I don’t even like cats!

Already looking forward to the next one!
