Good All Hallows Eve! Blessed Samhain! I haven’t even had any tea yet and it is almost noon. Why? I’m waiting on that plumber again!

Also the Anxiety Fairy snuck in the door this morning and all I want to do is cry. Part of it is the distance between myself and some people I love. Physical distance and emotional. I want to do something about that but in come all of the ‘What If’s”. What if I’m bothering them? What if they don’t want to hear from me? What if they think I don’t love them?

Do they understand I have a severe anxiety disorder and PTSD from something that happened where they live? Will they understand just hearing an accent from there will put me right back on the floor? Or the shame and guilt I still live with? Of course it’s irrational, the logical brain of mine knows. My body and my heart, not so much.

But I’m going to try. I’m going to extend a hand. New year, new me. Courage is doing it while being scared out of your mind. That’s brave, right?

Tonight I will sweep the old out the door and invite the fey in to dance and eat peanut butter cups. Note to self: You may have a peanut butter problem babe!

Happy Whatever you are doing! Thanks for being here.

Pumpkin Spice, I mean. I swear seeing Pumpkin Spice Cheerios was the last straw. This is not a case of more is better.

So here are some of my favorite funnies from my Pinterest Board. I have a drainage issue with my bathroom sink. As in the water just stays there. Yesterday the plumber helper came and said, yeah, that’s clogged with something. He then pulled out an ancient stopper missing the metal top. So now I’m waiting for the plumber to show up and fix it.

This is a major issue for me as I read in the bathtub for hours during the day and he still isn’t here. Now if I were to hop in that tub, the man would be knocking on the door. Can’t go for a run.  Just waiting for him. And the Postman.

Yesterday I received a big box of new teas that I’m still trying to find a place for. Tomorrow I’ll share them all.

For now I guess I’ll call the plumber again.

Pomegranate Oolong Tea and Kale to the Queen

Good Monday Morning! Sipping on this Harney and Sons Pomegranate Oolong. Who doesn’t love Oolong?  So delicate and clean. The smell was nice and the color was a nice pale, pure and just lovely.

Especially with a little cozy mystery. This is a nice one.

Okay, here is some strange stuff. I asked someone who I won’t mention because she is obviously a few crayons short of a box.

Me: What is this Trunk or Treat?

Idiot: All the people in church have their cars backed in and kids go from car to car in their costumes trick or treating.

Me: Why? Can’t they go in their neighborhood?

Idiot: No because Halloween is Satan’s Holiday.

Me: And yet they are dressing up and begging for candy. So your church is celebrating it.

Idiot: Satanists come out that night. It’s evil.

Me: Who the fuck are you? Did you grow up in the same house as me? And you need to read a book! I seriously doubt they are planning a Satanic Ritual in a town of 200.

Anyway, to each his own. “Christians” have been culturally stealing pagan holidays for eons, so I shouldn’t have been surprised she sees that as evil but Santa Claus is a go!

Have a laugh! And a cup of tea!

And this is one of those days.

For all of us with social anxiety. Good idea.

Of course I would expect some reciprocity here Cynthia.

My sanity is wearing thin these days, Janet. Vi  And this is why Janet had to go.

Some Pretty Witchy Teapots and Me!

I rather like that witches brew one! Oh, heck, I like them all. I love anything odd and unique as I myself am rather odd and unique.  I am pretty sure I could make the witches brew one with a couple of all white teapots I have already.

It’s freaking cold outside! My momma, who lives up in the frozen tundra on the North Dakota and Canada border said it was 64 degrees yesterday and ‘balmy’. It was 54 here. It is bright and sunny and should hit 70 today, thank you Mother Nature. Your favorite witchy chick is freezing her tail off!

I guess we are all going as Addams family member this year. But one year….I was invited to a certain author’s home in New Orleans for a macabre’ Halloween party. There were quite a few photo set-ups you could choose so here it is! The best party I’ve ever been to. Normally I am a Pirate every year but this year I went with the costume ball costume. With these weird contacts that make your eyes look black. The guy I went with made my mask. After this party I never saw him again. He may still be there for all I know.

23490_378589152345_1305687_n  Let me just say this was as prim and proper as it got that night which ended in Cemetery 1 and the loss of a pair of shoes. Which was the true tragedy that night.

Are you dressing up or having a party this year? Corbin is going as himself. That’s right. Charli is going as Wednesday Addams. They will go trick or treating and we are doing the Pub Crawl downtown.

I’m going for a run before the sun tucks itself back into the clouds!

Really, Can You Ever Have To Much Tea?

Hi Thursday! You are looking mighty wet and gloomy this morning. Good thing I had a big Earl Grey London Fog to warm me up.

I told you yesterday that I had been on a tea ordering binge. This is how it started. I was straightening up my Tea Cupboard and saw an empty spot up there by the Cranberry tin. So I ordered some more tins of the holiday blends.

This is my addiction. I love these tins. I use them for everything including small posies for tea parties. Do I have a problem? Probably. What you can’t see is I have backups of almost all of them behind the ones you see. There was also another motive. Depending on how many teas I order I get a box perfect for re-shipping. I needed 5 boxes that hold two tins. Yes, I ordered tea to get a box. It is the perfect size for a tea-cup, some tea, a truffle and a bath bomb. Christmas is done.

Converting the world to tea one gift at a time. Also it is a really great gift I would love to get. Plus I’m going on a cruise in April and I need my money for that. Very shallow I know, which makes me deep since I do know it.

This is what I will be doing today. Plus making Pumpkin Bread from Diane’s Kitchen. She has the best looking food. And there aren’t a million ingredients you can’t pronounce. Plus she has the cleanest baking pans I’ve ever seen! So pop over and begin to drool!

Cranberry Tea and Gingerbread Macarons. A Halloween Tea!

Enjoying Gingerbread Macarons and Harney and Sons Cranberry Tea🍵🎃🎃👻👻

Sipping and enjoying tea time today with a couple of friends. I am only doing this because I have these cute plates and Gingerbread Macarons! The Cranberry Tea is just delicious and those macarons are intense with that gingerbread filling!

The temperature has been dropping all day and it looks so cold and gloomy outside. Even our gorgeous oak tree has decided to turn colors. Mums are popping up everywhere and I guess it’s time to forget about Summer making a surprise comeback.

I need to be writing a book review but instead I’ve been ordering tea all morning. I’m procrastinating. I’m really good at it too! This book, edited and put together by J.T.Ellison is so brilliant I don’t even know what genre to put it in. It could fit all of them. The name is A Thousand Doors and if you get a chance, grab it! It’s been 3 days and I’m still thinking about the brilliance of this idea.

Other than that I’ve been hunting down a hand towel from the bathroom. You know, the one that is just for looks? Well it has disappeared. I am flummoxed. Towels don’t just get up and leave. OU Boy said the kids probably have it somewhere in their room but I’m not looking under their beds. It’s a mystery.

So that is all for today. A missing towel and a challenging book review. Living the Nancy Drew life over here!

Reading and sipping this morning. This is such a nice tea to have by itself. The flavors are so delicate and calming. It can be hard to find, but you can always get it on-line.

Tempest in a Teapot (A Teapot Collector Mystery Book 1) by [Cooper, Amanda]

Tucked away in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York is the charming town of Gracious Grove, where time moves slowly, gossip spreads quickly, and the scones are to die for…

This is the first in the series and I’m catching up on it! So far it’s really good!

What are you sipping and reading today?

Read Books, Drink Tea and Chill

It’s Monday! Never have I been so excited to see you Monday. Why? Fall Break is over and the children are back to school! I’m having a nice Chai to celebrate that one!

We are drying out here in OKC. The sun is shining and the lake is calling. I am up early hoping to get back on my regular schedule. Having two children for two weeks of break, has almost broken me. My schedule went out the window and binge watching the entire Halloween Movie Series has left me with some serious damage from eye rolling! Even the kids were yelling, “Why are you going in there???” The moral we got from this series is that if you are making out with a boy, you are going to die. Scared straight for now.

Then we had the Romero classics. All of Night of the Living Dead ( They’re coming for you Barbara) P.S. My mother’s name is Barbara so we get a lot of fun out of this one. All the Zombie shows were watched. Pumpkins have been decorated, candy eaten and by yesterday morning I was letting them eat bread.

I tried to have an adult conversation at the hardware store, asking for one of those things that keep water in the sink. The man behind me started roaring with laughter and said, “You don’t do dishes much, do you?” No, I say, I don’t. But my lack of brain matter is because it is Fall Break. Ooooooo, he says. Gotcha!

I now understand why people drink. And buy Benadryl. Most of last night was spent staring at the wall.

Today I am going to try to get back on track. Try. I may need multiple pots of tea, but I am going to try. ( I’m probably going back to bed).

Shrimp,Grits and Cranberry Tea

Good Morning! Still winter. We had a busy day yesterday. All that Zombie movie binge and then to the park to burn off some energy.

Last night we went out to dinner with Aunt Gayle. We went to Pearl’s, which is seafood heaven and I had the most delicious Blackened Shrimp and Grits. I even asked for a spoon to get every drop of sauce!

For tea yesterday it was just Charli and I so we tried one of the teas we got from Harney & Sons, Cranberry. I was delighted that it came out pink! And it was really good. Charli added a bit of sugar to hers so I added a cube as well. We drank the entire pot it was so good.

Today I have a book to finish and then maybe a nap. Until Chainsaw Massacre comes on.

Have a great Wednesday, you’re almost there!

xx Patricia
