Berry Mocha Truffle Tea and My Book Boyfriend!

First, the tea, from Octavia Tea Company this  Berry Mocha Truffle is excellent. It’s a loose-leaf tea and the aroma is calming and full of flavor. I love that this company has such lovely packaging and it’s all loose leaf teas and tisanes.

It was the perfect companion to the newest Stone Barrington book from
Stuart Woods. Stone is my book boyfriend. I also would like to be him. He is smart, rich, sophisticated, handsome and very sexy.

Been doing a lot of reading and catching up on some of my favorite summer authors. We have also been in a whirlwind of wedding planning! My baby is getting married. October 5th. So they have been busy. Working on the bus and planning an outdoor Fall wedding plus full-time jobs and 2 kids. I am in awe of them. This weekend Miss Charli Ava turns 9. We will do our annual dinner and shopping and a trip to the Savoy Tea Parlor.

Tomorrow I will show the progress on the bus, following the #Skoolie movement. You can look on Pinterest to see all the different conversions. Theirs is the 42-foot snub nose school bus. My neighbor lady said in her day they would call them hippies. I was not amused. These are college-educated Millenials who want to show their children the entire country and expose them to other cultures and ideas so they can make informed statements and not be ignorant. I am so proud of them! This is the same neighbor who yesterday told me that if I get any darker they’ll be asking for my green card. Asshat.

It’s going to be another 100-degree day so it’s off to the pool!

CHOCOLATE MINT ROOIBOS TEA AND A TALE

Friday Finally! Meet Octavia Tea’s Chocolate Mint. Caffeine-Free Rooibos. Chocolate and mint, yum. The Rooibos gives it a zip that I love and it’s similar to a Junior Mint. Very smooth. This one does contain milk/soy products so if you aren’t doing either, skip this one. It didn’t bother my tummy at all.

I love this clever book. It comes out in July and is a lot like mean girls club!

I have spent the entire morning going through closets trying to decide what to pack for vacation. I have two piles since I leave for another trip almost as soon as we return from Padre. Tommy called and I asked him how many outfits he was bringing. He said 3. Shorts, tee shirts and swimsuits. So far my list is:

6 swimsuits, 6 dresses, 6 pairs of shoes, workout clothes and shoes, 4 pairs of shorts and 4 tops, cover-ups for the beach, 2 purses, a blender, French Press, 25 types of tea and I still have to buy 2 pairs of sandals. Plus toiletries and potions. I’ll grocery shop when we get there. I’m just not sure what is in the house already so I’m thinking of bringing my own sheets too.  Tommy thinks we need to rent a van now. He’s funny.

Tonight we are having dinner with the kids as they have some news.  No one is dying and no one is pregnant, so I’m going to act very surprised when they tell me they are finally getting married! We let Corbin and Charli pick the restaurant which wasn’t the best idea as they chose S & B Burger Joint.

I hope your Friday is all that you want it to be!

A CUP OF TEA SOLVES EVERYTHING!

12345

Thursday literally started off with a BANG! Thunder, lightning, a bit of hail and the ear-splitting alarm on my phone going off telling me it’s flooding. I kind of noticed that when I saw the neighbors hanging petunias floating down the road.

My lovely little Charli and Corbin have dance recital on Saturday. This should be very interesting. I wasn’t sure if Corbin would want a bouquet afterward but thought I would ask so he wouldn’t be hurt. And yes! He wants that bouquet! A big one too.

Today I am staying right here and drinking tea and reading books. It’s so gloomy outside I should be watching all of the horror movies on Netflix, but alas, deadlines.

Going to make a nice pot of Chocolate Mint Tea and listen to the rhythm of the falling rain.  Also, anyone have any suggestions for red or navy sandals??

Meet Octavia Teas! Chocolate Earl Grey!

Meet Octavia Teas!

Out of a genuine passion for premium, loose-leaf tea, Octavia Tea was founded in 2002 after our founder spent 2 years traveling around the world (through Europe, Asia, India, and Africa) and fell in love with the different types of tea along each stop in her journey.

From thick, mint tea in Northern Africa … steamy, rich, spiced tea in India … bright, grassy green tea in Japan … fragrant jasmine tea in China … sweet apple tea in Turkey … comforting red tea in South Africa … exotic yerba maté in Argentina … fruit and vanilla flavored teas in Europe … our founder was amazed by the quality, variety and importance tea has on different cultures around the world.

Unable to purchase her favorite teas once back at home in Chicago (in a country that focuses on coffee where mass-produced tea bags are the standard), she began a small tea-importing hobby … that soon evolved into a full-time business.

Today, Octavia Tea imports and blends over 100 different teas, and the list is constantly evolving. Our main business is wholesale; we sell primarily to gourmet grocery stores, gift shops, spas, restaurants, tea shops and coffee shops around the country.

A friend on IG recommended them to me. I have never had Chocolate Earl Grey before and was anxious to try it. These are all loose leaf tea, which I prefer. The loose tea looked and smelled very good. There is a very good quality black tea with an Italian Bergamot and that silky chocolate all blending together to form this unique and deliciously smooth tea.  I can’t wait to try all of them!

Tommy has never had a cream horn! How can you be 40 years old and never had the adventure of a cream horn? Biting into that flaky pastry to find a light, whipped cream and sticking your tongue all the way inside to scoop it out. I called my sister, and we agreed this was a travesty. Now, mind you said sister and I had no idea what a cream horn was either until we spent the summer after graduation in Colorado Springs. Next to a King’s Sooper with a bakery. So off we went to Uptown Bakery and they had these fancy ones in vanilla and chocolate dip. He is now a fellow member of the Cream Horn Cult.

Have a wonderful week! It didn’t rain last night so I think we are going to the lake.
